It can be a mad, mad, mad, mad world and you may find yourself very irritated, snapping or yelling at your kids….. or….
You can take a moment and
STOP….
Notice your reactions to your child’s behaviors.
Pay attention to these and
BREATHE…
Send a mental message to yourself to release and let go of the negative.
REFLECT…
Ask yourself…
What is my old pattern? What part of my reaction is coming from my past?
What options..resources do I have right here and now?
What is my best insight about the situation and what is my knee jerk reaction?
CHOOSE…
What is possible here? What would be effective?
Can I shift my old pattern and make a creative choice about what I say and do?
Under all the circumstances what is my best choice?
Slow down and take a moment for you.
Create the holiday season you want and deserve. Enjoy your kids and have a Happy Thanksgiving.
Wishing you a peaceful home,
Your Parent Coach,
Susan
